Bridge

The bridge from childhood to adult,
Must have seemed quite long indeed.
But for me it appears you've crossed it
      With extraordinary speed.

Parents, the pillars of  the bridge,
With friends - the railings, never will you fall off the ridge.
I wish you merry days like the yore,
To one who has just turned twenty-four.

      You'll encounter many more bridges,
As you travel the road of life.
I hope they'll all be as easy to cross
As the one you just left behind.

Although I don't see you too often, now,
You're in my thoughts every day,
I pray for God's angel to protect
And guide you along your way.
